Website Terms of Use
The short version. Read the guides, play the games, use what you learn. Do not scrape the site or republish our content as your own. The guides are researched carefully but they are not legal advice, and immigration rules change — always check the official source before you act on anything here.
1. These terms, and what they cover
By using www.portugallifestylepro.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the site.
These terms cover this website only: the guides, the free browser games, the feedback page and everything else published at this domain. They are operated by PG App Studios, Algarve, Portugal.
The Portugal Lifestyle Pro mobile app is a separate product with its own terms and conditions, which you can read on its App Store and Google Play listings and inside the app. Anything to do with app subscriptions, purchases, refunds, accounts or in-app features is governed by those terms and by your agreement with Apple or Google — not by this page. The web app at portugal-lifestyle.com likewise has its own terms.
2. What this website offers
This site publishes free material about learning European Portuguese and about life in Portugal:
- 44 written guides covering the language, CEFR levels, the CIPLE citizenship exam, Portuguese culture, regions, schools and moving to Portugal
- Five browser games with 20 levels each — 100 levels in total, free, with no account required
- Information about the Portugal Lifestyle Pro app, and links to download it
- A feedback form for telling us what to build next
All of it is free to use. There is nothing to buy on this website, and we do not ask you to register or log in.
3. What you may do
You may read, print and share our pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, and you may link to any page here from anywhere. You are welcome to quote a short passage in your own writing, provided you credit Portugal Lifestyle Pro and link back to the page you took it from.
4. What you may not do
You agree not to:
- Copy, republish or redistribute substantial parts of our guides, game content or word lists — whether on a website, in an app, in a course, or in printed material
- Present our content as your own, or strip our name from it
- Use automated scrapers, crawlers or bots to harvest the site in bulk, beyond the normal indexing done by search engines
- Attempt to interfere with the site, probe it for vulnerabilities, or gain unauthorised access to any part of it
- Use the site or its content for anything unlawful, or in a way that could damage or disable the service for other people
- Use the feedback form to send abusive, unlawful or deliberately misleading content
5. Who owns what is here
The guides, game content, vocabulary sets, design, code, images and the Portugal Lifestyle Pro name and logo are owned by PG App Studios or used under licence, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. Nothing on this site transfers any of those rights to you; you get permission to use the site as described in section 3, and nothing more.
6. Feedback you send us
If you send us an idea through the feedback form, you are giving us permission to use it to improve the app and this website, without obligation or payment. Please do not send us anything confidential, and do not send anything you are not free to share. This does not affect your privacy rights over your personal data — see the Website Privacy Policy.
7. The guides are information, not advice
7.1 Immigration, visas and legal matters
Our guides cover visas, AIMA, residency, citizenship, apostilles and similar subjects. This is general information, researched in good faith and written for a general audience. It is not legal advice and must not be relied on as a substitute for it. Portuguese immigration rules, fees and procedures change frequently and are applied differently from one office to another. Always confirm your own situation with AIMA, a Portuguese consulate, or a qualified immigration lawyer before you act, and treat the official source as authoritative over anything written here.
7.2 Language learning
Our guides and games are a supplement to learning, not a guarantee of results. We cannot promise that using them will get you to any particular CEFR level, or that you will pass CIPLE or any other examination. We aim for accuracy in the European Portuguese we publish, and we correct mistakes when they are pointed out — the feedback form is the fastest way to tell us about one.
7.3 Everything else
Information about schools, healthcare, regions, towns, restaurants, costs and travel is published for general interest and can go out of date. Verify anything you intend to rely on.
8. Availability
We offer this site free of charge and make no promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of it — including individual guides or games — at any time and without notice.
9. Links to other websites
We link to third-party sites, including the Apple App Store, Google Play and official Portuguese government pages. Those links are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content or their practices, and a link is not an endorsement.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, this website and everything on it is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site, or from reliance on any information published here.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always the one on this page, and the "last updated" date at the top tells you when it changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Portugal, and the Portuguese courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer resident in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them continue to apply.
